Fury Forum - For Family, Friends and Supporters
Fury now has a private forum for the team and its supporters. Fans, friends, and family are encouraged to register and access the forum as an easy way to connect online with each other and the team. Additionally, by registering with the forum, you will receive Fury Newsletters by e-mail that will provide tournament recaps and help you keep up to date with important information being posted to the forum. This is a private forum (your registration will have to be approved by our webmaster) so that people can feel comfortable sharing personal information if necessary (e.g. phone numbers). We think this forum will be an especially useful tool for supporters following the action from their homes and for fans at our tournaments interested in coordinating their plans. You can access the forum here: http://furyultimate.proboards84.com or by clicking on the "Fury Message Board" link on every page of the Fury website.
Thanks to everyone for their continued support of Fury in our quest for a World title!
Japan Recap
In many ways, the Dream Cup was like a dream come true for Fury. Club Jr. sponsored the team's trip to Japan for five days for one of the biggest tournaments in the world and the experience was one that the team will remember forever. Over 2,000 players converged on Fuji City for the weekend's play and Sockeye and Fury were guests of honor. During the tournament, Fury played three college teams (the Huskies, the Nihon Humingbirds, and the Chukyo FLIPPER & NaughtyKids) and the Japanese club team MUD in timed 50 minute games. After winning these four games, Fury faced the Japanese National Team that will be representing its country at Worlds in Vancouver this August. The Japanese took control of the finals from the start, taking half 8-4. Fury had a late surge, scoring five points in a row towards the end of the game, but it was too little, too late and the Japanese team won 15-9. More details of the weekend can be found on the IC Ultimate blog site (http://icultimate.blogspot.com/2008/03/dream-cup-2008.html).
Getting the chance to play international competition so early in the season will only be a good thing for Fury as it prepares for Worlds. Having the opportunity to visit Japan was a truly special experience and Fury expresses its deepest gratitude to Club Jr. and all of the people that helped make the trip a success. Special thanks go to Mr. Yoshida, Sat, Noriko, Graham, and Moko for all their help and support.

Fury is going to Japan
Club Jr. extended the generous offer to sponsor a trip to Japan for the Dream Cup to both the open and women's 2007 champions. Club Jr. will be paying for the flights, hotel, and ground transportation for 14 players from both Sockeye and Fury for the tournament. The Dream Cup is a large tournament held near the base of Mount Fuji that caters primarily to Japanese teams. Fury will be bringing 18 players and its coach, Matty Tsang, to the tournament and is eager for the chance to test itself against some of the Japanese competition it will see in August at Worlds. We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to engage in this cultural and ultimate exchange.
